Another form of prophecy is communications and insight coming from what would normally be thought to be an external source. It could be divine, god undefined, (all pervading intelligence) or extraterrestrial intelligence and being. One would need to be open and receptive to the channel or source of communication to receive it.
It is not clear if the communication is triggered by a query or recognized need for the information which is then provided in a somewhat autonomous fashion or if there is actually willful being involved in sending the communication based on it's greater understanding or intent.
It is thought that meditation, the quieting of the mind,
altered states achieved with various compounds or brainwave entrainment audio
can increase receptivity to this external communication and insight into the
future unfolding in the present.
